FAQ’s
- What is the Links Players National Invitational? An invitation to get connected to the growing Links community. Two days to fellowship, hear stories of what God is doing through the ministry, play golf and catch Links Players’ vision for the future.
- What does it cost? As a guest of Links Players, you’ll enjoy complimentary accommodations, golf, and meals provided for the duration of the event. Transportation to and from venues will be at your own expense.
- As an attendee, are you expected to make a gift? As a donor-supported ministry, we ask each participant to prayerfully consider financially supporting the ministry through this event.
- Can I attend a portion of the event? As an attendee, we ask that you make plans to attend the entire event to get connected with the Links Community.
- Can we extend our time at the La Quinta Resort? Yes, we have a group rate of $199/ night. Upon registration, please make a note and we will confirm your additional stay. All programming will end by Wednesday 3pm/PST if you are considering extending your stay.
- Why does the event start on Monday? We know that weekends are precious family time so we have designed the event pattern to allow you to participate in your family weekend activities and still be able to attend the event.
- Can I play additional golf? If you want to come in early or stay later, feel free to explore Coachella Valley’s over 120 golf courses, making it one of the most concentrated areas in the world for golf courses. Such extra golf will be at your expense.
- What is the tournament format? 2-man Teams flighted by Team Handicaps. Whether you’re aiming for serious competition or just looking to have fun, there’s a flight for you!
- Can I bring my spouse? Absolutely! We encourage you to bring your spouse to get connected to the growing Links Community across the country.
- What if I or my spouse doesn’t play golf? We will have activities for non-golfers while golf is taking place. Or you can choose to participate in your own activity during golf. The La Quinta Resort offers Spa & Wellness, Tennis & Pickleball, Swimming & Leisure, Outdoor Adventures, Attractions and Shopping in the surrounding area.
- Children? As an opportunity to get connected to the Links Community, we ask that kids not to attend except for nursing mothers of course.
- What if I confirm my attendence and then need to cancel? We make every effort to re-book cancellations. If you cancel within 30 days of the event and we are not able to re-book your reservation, we will ask you to cover the direct expense of your cancellation.
- The closest major airports to La Quinta, CA, and their approximate drive times are:
- Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) – 22 miles, ~30 minutes. The nearest and most convenient airport. Offers domestic flights with several major airlines.
- Ontario International Airport (ONT) – 90 miles, ~1 hour 30 minutes. A larger airport with more flight options, especially for domestic travel.
- John Wayne Airport (SNA) – Orange County – 110 miles, ~2 hours. A good alternative if you find better flight deals, especially for travelers coming from further away.
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) – 140 miles, ~2.5 to 3 hours. The largest airport with the most flight options, but the drive can be long, especially with LA traffic.
- San Diego International Airport (SAN) – 135 miles, ~2.5 to 3 hours. Another major airport option, particularly if you’re coming from the southwest.
