About Orlando Area – Links Players Fellowship

Monthly per schedule & courses set by the “Goofers,” a group run by Doyle Hadden and based in First Baptist Orlando.

April 2026 ANNOUNCEMENT

The next meeting of the Orlando Area Links Players Fellowship will be at Stoneybrook West CC at 7:30 AM on April 9, 2026. This is an opportunity for all Goofers to bring a friend and bless others with your fellowship. And play a special Links game as well!

Compassionate giving is an integral part of our mission. This is one thing that sets a Links meeting apart from a regular Goofer outing. Our target in 2026 is $3000. If we make it, a friend has agreed to double it – to $6000 or more. We stand at $534 ytd. Please come with a willing and open heart.

We have a guest speaker this month; Ira Burns. Ira is the newly appointed Area Director of Florida for Links Players. He’s a devoted servant of God since the age of eight and has an impressive background. Ira spent 21 years in the US Air Force and 24 years working with the Department of Homeland Security/Transportation Security Administration (DHS/TSA). He’s now based in Ocala, Florida, with his wife Nancy and is involved in various community activities, including volunteering as a golf tournament official for the Florida State Golf Association. Ira also enjoys worshipping through music, playing the guitar, and singing ¹

Please come to the April meeting and bring a friend!

Last month we concluded that God is everywhere. He desires to be with us. And He tells us how in John 14:16-18. So, the question became, “Am I aware of Him?.”

Practical Steps to Grow in Awareness

1. Pause and acknowledge Him daily—start/end your day with “Lord, I know You’re here.”

2. Be still – set aside quiet time to listen (no phone distractions).

3. Look for His hand—in small things (a kind word, answered prayer, beauty in creation).

4. Pray ScripturePsalm 139 is a great awareness verse. See how closely it tracks with the Lord’s Prayer!

5. Worship and thank Him—praise shifts focus to His nearness. “Gratitude is, first and foremost, a way of seeing that alters our gaze.”
