As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace. (1 Peter 4:10)

Everyone is gifted differently by God. That’s no surprise. As someone gifted with the physical ability to hit a golf ball and play golf at a reasonably high level, I’ve often wondered how best to share my gift with others or serve others.

I am very envious of those who have the physical gift of musical talent. What a blessing it is to hear great artists sing. It is even more encouraging when they are singing praise to the Lord. I am about a 30 handicap when it comes to musical talent, but I love to hear great musicians play and sing.

As I drive in my truck to LINKS fellowship meetings, I listen to music, and the Holy Spirit often speaks to me in these times. I am frequently moved to tears thinking about the grace of God and the love of Jesus for us as I listen to the lyrics of great Christian songs.

I often contemplate the meaning of the lyrics and what scripture verses they are connected to. Whenever this happens, I share the songs with my LINKS fellowship brothers. I share the song through our group text and share a scripture verse or prayer for them. I encourage you to do the same.

Lately, I have been most impacted by Elevation Worship, Chandler Moore, Brandon Lake, and The Belonging Co. Powerful lyrics that make me stop and truly meditate on the power and grace of God and the life and love of Jesus Christ.

Think about these lyrics. “I’m caught up in your presence. I just want to sit here at your feet.” “I’m not here for blessings. Jesus, you don’t owe me anything. More than anything that you can do…I just want you.” How about this: “I have a King with dominion over death. He holds the keys in His holy nail-scarred hands. Dead things come alive in the name of Jesus.”

Therefore, let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.

Hebrews 12:28-29

A few lyrics recently affected me: “Our God is a consuming fire, Our God is a Holy wind. Whatever you speak is done, whatever you touch will live.”

Whatever you touch will live.” I don’t know about you, but that makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. When God truly gets ahold of your life, you will live like never before.

I want to encourage you this morning to share your gifts and use them to serve others. I will keep trying to use my gift to help people play and enjoy golf, and if you have the gift of music, thank you for sharing it.

I passionately believe that your days will go better if you flood your life with Christian lyrics and the word of God. Make it the soundtrack of your life!

Give ‘em Heaven today, LINKS family!

Prayer: Lord, open my soul to the soundtrack of heaven!
